Power

We met power on #ergo in 1997, late spring I guess. Both Marianne and putt liked that guy at once :o) Power is a man we can have lots of fun together with, like teasing and joking, but we also have our serious chats. About small details and really personal problems. Great to have friends that will listen. Power is one of them.

Well, we talked for months on #ergo and IQC. Marianne talked him into download ICQ :o) Power knew that we are from Norway, and we of course knew that he is a Canadian. There's an OCEAN between us.... But I think he really wanted to see Norway, and also to meet Marianne and me. And we were thrilled when our friend told us that he really would come visiting us! Plans were made, and plans were changed, but August the 4th. we met power at Fornebu airport in Oslo! Marianne, Murmel, Rune Marius and putt waited like kids, and THERE he came :o) Power was in Norway!!

Tuesday August the 4th.

We went to Oslo to meet power at the airport! We were excited :o) I guess
power was too :o) Murmel was at the airport as well :o) We spent some hours
in Oslo, and we met two of our sons there, Rune Marius and H�vard and
H�vard fiancee, Monica. Lots of people in the city. We went to a Mongolian
restaurant and had a delicious dinner there :o) I guess we soon found out
that power really IS a kind, great and fantastic person in real life too!
After some hours we said goodbye to H�vard, Monica and Rune Marius. H�vard
and Monica live in Oslo, while Rune Marius was on his way to Greece on
vacation. Murmel, power, Marianne and putt drove back to Marianne and putt's
summer house. and had a nice evening there :o)
Went to bed pretty early, cause we were all a bit tired, i think.

Wednesday August the 5th.

We left our summer house about 2:00pm and said goodbye to Murmel.
A loooooong car drive from our summer house to where we live on Hitra.
Eight hours drive. Stopped at a place called Alvdal and had dinner at a
restaurant. Our cat sat at power's KNEE!!!! And cats have claws!! Ask power,
he knows all about cats' claws! LOL LOL
Came to Kvenv�r, Hitra (where putt and Marianne live) at about 10:00 pm.
Well, we were all tired, but sat up till late anyway. Had a nice evening here :o)

Thursday August the 6th.

Got up early :o) Putt showed power the school. And connected to internet
there :o) We actually talked to Marianne and puppet on mIRC! hehe
We had to get the crab traps ready, so we went down by the shore and put
them into the boat.
OOPPSS!! I almost forgot!!! Power ate WHALE MEAT for the first time!
And he said he liked it too :o)
Power and putt went down to the bar relaxing... Well?? Doesn't this sound
like an exhausting day? hehehehe
Went back home about midnight, and spent the rest of the time in our
living room, till we went to bed.

Friday August the 7th.

We all got up pretty early. Ate, did some shopping, and went back home.
Power and putt decided to climb a real high mountain. And we did too :o)
Well, it was steep!! Do you know what steep is? Guess you don't, untill
you have climbed this one!! Actually we found out that putt is the younger
one! hehehehe Well, putt was almost at the top, when he shouted: "POWER!!
WHERE ARE YOU???" After a while he got an answer! Power: "I'm here, putt!
But i guess I am lagging!" ROFL
Well, we both reached the top... :o) We had some coffee with us, and had
a great time and a GREAT sight!! (Power didn't want to leave!)
PS! We saw a rabbit up there, about 7 meters from us. Well, the Canadians
usually shout loudly in order to get rabbits to sit still! And this
Canadian did too, of course! And the rabbit RAN! OF COURSE! hehehe
A really huge eagle flew right across our path! We could *almost* touch it.
Well, I said "almost", didn't I? lol
This moutains used to be called Tonningen earlier, but from this day off, its
name is "Joe's Hill".
We came home late that afternoon.
We had a cosy evening in the living room, and of course we met some of
you on the net :o)


Ay, ay, captain! Out in putt's boat fishing.	On our trip back south we met NITRO!!	Back to our summer place. (power)

Saturday August the 8th.

Well, power slept for a looooooooong time this morning! hehe We had
breakfast with the usual brown cheese and the liver pat�. lol
Power and putt went shopping... Well, then we went out in the boat
fishing bate for the crab traps... We drove a longer trip with the boat,
and visited Sk�r�ya, where the camp school is. Did some more fishing,
but there weren't many fish to catch though.. ;(
But we DID get two mackerels, power and Marianne ate them for dinner.
Putt had porridge. Mackerels.... pffffft! rofl
After dinner we just relaxed for an hour or so.... and took a walk
to the bar.... Not many people there, though, so we walked back home.
Putt went to the puter room, while power and Marianne were laughing! LOL
They were playing chess! Both cheated a lot, and made some tricks! LOL
Well, poor old putt got VERY tired, and went to bed.. I guess Marianne
came right after him, but putt never knew, cause he fell asleep AT
ONCE! Power?? Well, talking to Wendy of course! hehehe He was up
ALL NIGHT! rofl

Well, now it is Sunday, and guess where power is? hehehe IN BED!!
ASLEEP!! hehehehehe POWER!!! WAKE UP!!!!!!!! :o)

Today's schedule: We are going out in the boat, and we are hoping to
find lots of crabs in the traps :o)

OOOPPPSSS!!!! P O W E R I S A W A K E !!!!! He just came out
of the bedroom!!! hehehehehehe

Well, Hope we'll have another good day :o)

Sunday August the 9th.

Well, finally power got out of bed. hehehe We had some breakfast, did
some other necessary stuff... like washing, taking a shower, watching
TV (hehe). Then we got dressed for sea, and went out in the boat. A great
day at sea... But: NO CRABS IN THE TRAPS ;(( And that has NEVER
happened before!!!! We bated the traps again, and went on a boat trip
to "visit" some of the smaller islands!! GREAT!! Power is a GREAT boat
driver too !!!!!!! :o)
Well, before going back home to Marianne, we took a look in the traps
again, and guess what?? LOL There was ONE crab there! Tragic! But i'm cooking
that crab right now, while typing this! The two claws are for power to
eat! I feel really sorry for not getting more crabs though...
Marianne and power is playing chess again right now... I'm gonna take a shower,
cause my hair is all salty! (from the sea)
Power caught some fish too... One rather big one and lots of smaller ones.
Well, this is what happened: We cleaned the fish on one of the small islands,
(well, it's actually more like a rock in a sea than an island though). We wanted
to see this rock, and laid the fish on a stone. Putt put a bucket over the fish, and
said: "I'm really smart!eh?" Well, power laid a stone on the bucket and said: "I
am even smarter!!"
We went back to that place after about half an hour or so. We took the stone
off the bucket, and then took the bucket away. We looked at each other and said:
"WHERE IS THE FISH??" Well, some seagulls were sitting smiling at us! (Or were
they really laughing?) How they managed to take the fish is still a mystery, but
both power and putt said: "The seagulls were the smartest!"
So NO FISH either! Hope the seagulls had a nice meal though! :o)
Guess we are gonna go to bed quite early today, cause if the weather is ok tomorrow,
we'll climb that "Joe's Hill" again :o) And then we have to get those crab traps
out of the water. Hopefully there will be some to eat! We'll see!
We planned leaving Hitra tomorrow afternoon, and then we'll arrive summer house again
about 2:00 am . Guess we'll go to sleep at once then.

Monday August the 10th.

Power was sick today ;(( stakkar power ;(( hehehe We had a great yesterday
night with lots of singing. Power plays the harmonica very well, and
putt played the guitar. Great night :o) Phoebe came visiting us too :o)
She gave power at least three hugs, putt got none ;( LOL Always power,
power, power!! Never putt, putt, putt! ;(
Today we went out in the boat again! Beautiful weather, but windy at sea.
Caught two crabs! That's too bad! Sorry, I guess we aren't good fisher-
men after all?? We brought some coffee, and had a nice time :o)
We are very soon leaving for our summer house again. In about an hour or so.
We'll get there at about 2:00 am tomorrow morning.
Great day again for putt and Marianne! :o) Dunno about power this day! rofl


A short visit in Lillehammer, where our son Simon lives together with his fiancee.	Ay, ay GENERAL! power wearing Simon's uniform.	This building in Hamar is called "Vikingskipet". It was the skaters arena during Winter Olympics 1994.

Tuesday August the 11th.

We went to visit Marianne and putt's youngest son Simon and his fiancee
Ann Christine. They live in a small town called Lillehammer. (Lillehammer had the
Winter Olympics in 1994!) We had a nice day there with them. Went to the streets of
Lillehammer, and had a really tasty dinner at a Chineese restaurant. Went back home
to our summer place in the evening, and spent the rest of the day there :o)


Back in Hamar. Power WON this teddybear!	We even went to Sweden. This is power on the border.	This was power's last day in Norway. It's early morning, and we were all very tired. (4:00am)

Wednesday August the 12th.

Power, Marianne and putt drove to Sweden. We were supposed to visit putt's mom early this
afternoon, but; Believe it or not; we got LOST in Sweden!! lol lol Well, Sweden is a
nice country too, so maybe it wasn't that bad after all :o)?? (hehe)
We arrived at putt's mom a lot later than planned, and she had baked a mmmmmm VERY GOOD
applepie :o) We spent an hour or so there, before we went back home to the summer house.
Later in the evening yoggi and apollo came here to meet power :o) They slept here, and
went back home to Fredrikstad when we went off to the airport at 4:00 am. Not very much
sleep that night.

Thursday August the 13th.

Marianne and putt just came back home from the air port. It was very sad to say bye to such
a great man. It's 2 hours since he left Norway now, and we already miss him A LOT!!!!!
We really hope that we will meet again some day :o)

To the ones of you that have met power on ergo or elsewhere on the net: He's THE GREATEST,
KINDEST, FUNNIEST and THE MOST LOVEABLE person we have ever met!! :o) We are so happy and
extremely honoured to have had him with us for these days :o) And we will NEVER EVER forget
these days together with power2. :o) We don't want him to leave!!!! Honestly!! But i guess
his wife wants him back though! (And i can REALLY understand why.)
This Canadian will for ever be in our hearts :o) And we REALLY REALLY HOPE that we'll see
each other again!!
I can hear his laughter from the kitchen where he and Marianne are sitting playing chess,
while I'm typing this, and i feel VERY sad thinking about the fact that he's leaving us
again in 3-4 days. If any of you would like to meet a fantastic person, power is the man!
I honestly mean that he's the kindest man i have ever met :o)
Actually we just have to hug each other every day :o) Well, we do before we go to bed!
It's so great to have him here :o) I wish my English could be a little better now, so I really
could have expressed what a man he is :o) Hope you'll get an idea after all, though :o)
WE LOVE THIS GUY A LOT!!!! :o)

We also hope that he has had some good days in Norway :o) The weather has been against us,
but pfffft!! You can do some walking and talking and even fishing although it's raining :o)

Well, that's about all..... We gotta have our little "secrets" too! hehehehe

Just some few words, Joe... I remember you saying just a couple of hours ago at the airport that
you would never change the world a bit. Well, you changed Marianne and my world a whole lot :o)
